Project Manager (Generalist)

About onRails

onRails is asset infrastructure that brings assets to Canton. Our mission is to open the world's financial system by enabling assets to move across networks with privacy, compliance, and atomic settlement. The onRails platform includes cETH — a 1:1 representation of ETH on the Canton Network.

The role

We are looking for our first Project Manager — a generalist who will help turn founder vision and business priorities into clear, executable projects, while translating engineering risks, constraints, and trade-offs back into decisions the business can act on.

You should be comfortable operating in an early-stage environment where processes are still being built, priorities can change quickly, and you are expected to figure things out rather than follow an established playbook.

What you will do

  • Own several projects end-to-end, from scoping and planning through launch and post-launch follow-up
  • Act as the bridge between founders and engineering, translating business priorities into actionable work and technical constraints into clear business decisions
  • Define project scope, priorities, milestones, dependencies, and success criteria
  • Drive prioritization across projects based on business impact, effort, and available resources
  • Identify risks and blockers early and drive them to resolution
  • Coordinate dependencies across engineering, marketing, and external partners
  • Set up and surface the delivery, product, and business metrics that matter
  • Keep founders informed on progress, risks, trade-offs, and decisions that require their input
  • Maintain planning, sync, and retrospective processes
  • Support launches, integrations, and other cross-functional initiatives

What we are looking for

  • 3+ years of experience in project, delivery, product, or business operations within technical or product-led teams
  • Comfortable working with engineering teams and understanding technical dependencies and trade-offs
  • Strong prioritization and business judgment
  • Proven ability to introduce structure without formal authority
  • Strong ownership and ability to drive projects independently
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and changing priorities in an early-stage environment
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal

Nice to have

  • Experience as an early or first PM at a startup
  • Experience working directly with founders
  • Familiarity with digital assets, web3, fintech, or market infrastructure

What success looks like

The team knows what it is working on and why, projects move predictably, and founders can hand off ownership with confidence.

Engineering has the context and clarity needed to execute, risks are surfaced early, and the company has just enough process to scale without losing its speed and flexibility.
